IAN FAIR
Performer, Teacher, Sound Engineer and Producer
Hi, I’m Ian and I am a professional musician, teacher, sound engineer and producer based in the north-west of England.
Whilst I’m primarily a viola player in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, I’m sometimes seen elsewhere playing violin and electric bass.
I am currently teaching viola at the University of Liverpool as well as violin and viola privately on the Wirral. My philosophy is that my students become independent learners who have a love for their instrument and playing it.
Additionally, I am also a freelance sound engineer and producer, working with several clients mainly in the classical field. My aim is accurately capture their live sound in the acoustic they are performing.
Otherwise, here is a video of me playing my the Gigue from Cello Suite No. 1 in G major by J.S. Bach. I love these dance movements in particular as they remind me of ceilidhs growing up when a jig would be danced!
